Nice little restaurants in Venice?
Hello all Venice experts!
I will be staying a couple of days just behind la Punta della Dogaga this May. I will be cooking most of our evening meals, but am looking for nice little places for lunch. I heard of Osteria Sora el Ponte behind the fish market. Any comments? We are also looking for a nice friendly restaurant for supper near my cousin's hotel (http://www.locandabarbarigo.com/). It will be his first night in Venice, so given the jet lag, we would like to find something in the vicinity. We are all food lovers, and would rather cook than eat at an over-priced tourist trap! I KNOW there must still be good restaurants where locals go in Venice! ;-) Thanks for your input! Jojonana |
This is one of my Venice favorites, located in an area worth exploring-
Osteria La Zucca - Santa Croce 1762 - 30135 Venezia (VE) - tel 041 52 41 570 Tripadvisor has a lot of reviews for La Zucca. |

Osteria Da Alberto is a good choice too.

Had the two best evenings at La Zucca in October..very little seating inside and only about four tables outside...but well worth any wait...our hotel(Mocenigo)was very closeby..Your cousin's hotel is a long way off, so this would not fit your criterion.

We have eaten here a couple of times, and liked it:
La Bitta Address: Calle Lunga San Barnaba, Dorsoduro 2753/a, Venice, 30123 Phone: 041/5230531 |
I 5th La Zucca! We never miss it when in Venice - which we will be in three weeks!

I also hit reply to add La Zucca ... so good we ordered seconds on some of the appetizers instead of dessert.
