Nice in May - hotel difficulty
 

Is some event going on in Nice from about May 20-30? Am having some difficulty finding room in moderate hotels. Many thanks.

Not exactly IN Nice, but the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix are around those dates.
You may need to look inland a but. One year we stayed at Le Hameau in St. Paul de Vence when nothing reasonable seemed to be left on the coast.

Try one of the other resort towns such as Villefranche-sur-mer. Easy transportation. That's where we ended up during the Cannes Festival.

How moderately does your room have to be?

Did you take a look at booking sites such as venere.com? I put 20 - 25 May and true it gave only 14 available hotels and even a modest 2*hotel Dante charges €156. But there are two around €100, trocadero and kyriad. Kyriad 3* is a chain and it can be fine.

Thank you soooo much - no wonder I didn't find any events IN Nice. As always, Fodorites are tops!

I booked two different hotels and it was confirmed through email but then the hotel contacted me directly to tell me there was no availability.
