Nice Hotel needed in Bayeux and Honfleur

I was heading to Normandy this week, but evidently the hotels we were considering are full. Does anyone have any recommendations for very nice hotels in either city? I'd prefer one in the city center, rather than ouitside the city, and at least 3+ stars if available.
Thanks

It's been many years, but back in 1999 my Mother and I stayed at Hotel D'Argouges. Here are my notes from my journal:

HOTEL D'ARGOUGES
21 rue Saint-Patrice
14400, Bayeux, Normandy.
Phone 33-2-31-92-88-86

450FF per night, included all taxes. We stayed in the main house overlooking the garden. There is another building around the corner. The room was quite big with both a twin and queen bed. The bathroom was very large and included a tub, no shower curtain, with a hand-held shower spray. A t.v. and mini bar was in the room. Parking is free, though limited space (about 8-10 cars). Very good location, about a 7-10 minute walk to the tourist office, the Tapestry museum and other main sights. Across the street in the plaza there is a great market held on Saturdays.

Here's their web site: http://www.hotel-dargouges.com/index...;editLangue=UK

In Honfleur L'Ecrin is very nice, and it has its own parking lot surrounded by walls. The hotel is within walking distance of the port.

Underhill, that is one that did not have room.

The other Hotel in Bayeux looks nice, I hope that it looks the same today as the pixs.
Thanks

We stayed at the d'Argouges in 2005 and agree with what monicapileggi says about it. However, I can't remember if it had 2 or 3 stars, but I would say that the public rooms seemed like 3 star, but the bedrooms were more 2 star in terms of furnishings. But great place, friendly owners, and super location in Bayeux.

I would say Hotel D'Argouges is a 3-star hotel. Charming place.

Hotel d'Argouges is 2star. Don't know why, it's a charming place. Perhaps because it doesn't have a dining room. But being just off the main street of Bayeux with a multitude of restaurants that doesn't matter.
The Lion d'or is a fine hotel. Eisenhower stayed there in 1969 when he came to inaugurate the time capsule at the American cemetery.
The Luxemburg is another as is the Churchill.

Another reason for 2 star at d'Argouges could be no elevator, as I remember it.

we stayed at Cour Ste Catherine in Honfleur -

www.coursaintecatherine.com

We loved it... we were leaving early one morning to get to Bayeux - she met us at 6:30am (before breakfast) and gave us croissants and a baguette for the road. I was impressed with her kindness.

Another vote for d'Argouges. Delightful in every way. (Yes, I do believe there's no elevator.)

We just Loved Churchill Hotel. The owners are wonderful and the hotel is beautiful. Free parking and the breakfast in the morning was fantastic.

Hello Intex:

I can suggest, based on personal experience, the following;

Bayeux: Chateau le Cheneviere

Honfleur: La Ferme Saint Simeon

Both have wonderful rooms, great bars and fabulous restaurants. What else might one ask for? Gradyghost
