Nice, Hotel La Perouse...views?
Do we need to book a Deluxe SeaView(vs. Superior Seaview) room to truly get a great view?
|
I believe the DeLuxe terminology versus Superior just defines the room, not necessarily the quality of the view. If you want to make sure you have a good view down the beach (basically looking westward from the hotel) just ask the to assign you a room that will allow you to see the beach along the Promenade des Anglais. It is indeed a nice view, with the long waterfront curving southward in the distance. I can't remember what our room was called, but we had a balcony that was basically on the south side. However, once out on the balcony, you could look west along that long, picturesque beach. I must admit also that I had a good view straight down to a lower level where the pool was located, with a few topless ladies adding to the charm. Good luck.

rooms either overlook the garden or the Baie des Anges. Seaside rooms are more expensive. Some have a terrace.

A superior room with seaview should get you quite a nice view of the Mediterranean; the deluxe room is larger and comes with a terrace rather than a balcony. We thought our balcony quite adequate, and the view was fabulous view over the rooftops to the sea.
If you want to see the area from which Dufy painted his famous canvases of the Promenade des Anglais, just look to the left of the elevator as you emerge. Wow! |
Thanks for your prompt responses. We're now booked for a May visit!

You should have a marvelous time--May is a nice time there. The hotel's proximity to Vieux Nice is a real plus.

We have stayed there twice, until it got too expensive for us. Both times we were in either room 310A or 410A which have a balcony with a small table and 2 chairs overlooking the sea and with a large window on the adjacent side overlooking the entire curve of the Baie des Anges and the "beach" and Nice. Heavenly!
