nice for the night

we will be flying into nice at 2pm on a saturday this april. does anyone have recommendation of a comfortable moderately priced hotel to stay for one night. We hope to drop our luggage at the hotel, find transportation to monte carlo to spend the evening at the casino, return to the hotel late that night and spend the next day exploring nice hoping to find a nice shop to buy a keepsake to remember our 25th anninversary.
Thanks

What does a moderately priced hotel menas to you? 60 Euros? 90? perhaps 120?

The Rex Hotel is very budget, very sparce, very clean and in a great location.

Don't think Marriott; think college dorm and you will have an idea of what it is like.

Thanks for the feedback. 100 euros for the night is okay. After reading about hotels in the area we thought we might be able to find a friendly, clean and comfortable hotel close to shops and views ,so no time wasted traveling. Also I would have more to spend on memorabilia. (smile) I'm thinking that once we wake up we would be able to spend the day on foot and return to the hotel to pick up our luggage to go to the airport and leave for paris.
