Nice, Clean, & Safe Hotel on a Budget
I'm taking my first trip to Paris on my own, and I'm trying to find a decent hotel and hopefully within the 100-200$ range. I'm not too picky on the location, but something relatively close to the attractions would be nice!

lots and lots of info on former threads if you type various keywords in the search box above.
Hotel Jeanne d'Arc, 3 rue Jarente, Marais comes to mind to give you a start. Have fun searching. |
Hi Lyndek,
I stayed at the Hotel Trois Couronnes for one night in Paris. Its in the 17th, on Rue De L'Arc Du Triomphe. Its like a 2 minute walk to the Arc and Champs Elysees. The room was small, but very clean and the sheets smelled so fresh I was tempted to ask the cleaning staff what they use!! LOL Its not the best of locations because you are from from certain things, but the room....I think it was 90euros/night was cute, and the hotel was clean. It has an elevator, and internet access in the lobby (u have to pay). Good Luck! and have fun! I loved Paris. Whatever you do, do not stay at HOTEL DU COMMERCE. I stayed there for 7 nights and it was awful, 86 stairs to get to my room, dirty bedding....the only good point was that it was right in the heart of the latin quarter. But it was awful! Cheers! Hotel Residence Monge on rue Monge. Most rooms facing the street have a terrace.

I should change that to "some room" facing the street have a small terrace. :)

It's quite easy to find hotel posts by just entering "Paris" into the search box...probably 80% of inquiries are about hotels and the 'districts' (arrondissements).

The Hotel de la Bourdonnais, in the 7th, has rooms with little balconies and full views of the Eiffel Tower. Great location, in more quiet upscale area with a bank ATM close-by, also a market next door, and Rue Cler a couple of blocks away. We used Expedia to reserve its quad room for $225 in June '05.

We have stayed at the Hotel de France in the 7th several times. It is within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower. Very clean rooms and an elevator which is most important to my lazy sister. There is a metro stop very close by. I think the price is about 100 Euros for a twin.

I cannot say enough about Hotel Campanile. It is a real bargin. There are several of them around Paris. The Hotel Campanile Bastille would be a GREAT location for 67 E /night.
When I stayed there breakfast was included with the price of the room. http://www.hotel-campanile-bastille-...page_en_1.html |
