Nice article about getting lost in Venice

Hi
Yesterday's New York Times travel section had an evocative article about how most people, including locals, have the experience of exploring and getting lost in Venice. Free registration is required to access the article.

Yes, read it yesterday and it was quite interesting. Link here:

By the way, that essay section is, in my opinion, one of the more interesting sections of the Travel section. There was a very interesting one written by a woman who took a flight to Madrid because she had just quarreled with her husband and couldn't bare to face him before he came home in the evening. That was a couple of months ago.

This is the one on Madrid for those interested:

Thanks for sharing. They should add Seville to the list of great places to get lost as well! DH was so frustrated by it...(I love getting lost)...then he realized that they had north and south reversed on our map! I told my Spanish teacher who is from Seville about this and she just smiled!

I agree. It was a wonderful article, and it should be required reading for anyone planning to go to Venice.

How does one find these essays in NY Times Travel?

I don't know how they archive the essays -- you could search for one you're interested in. But in the future, you can go to the Travel section of the Times

http://travel.nytimes.com/pages/travel/index.html

and scroll down for the essay.

The Travel section comes with the Sunday paper. I usually read the paper edition since I subscribe to the Times on the weekends (and that's a section I usually read).

Thanks.

By the way, it doesn't look like you can access the essay historically easily all in one place -- I can't figure out how, anyway, so it looks like you're out of luck unless you know which one you're trying to find (in which case you can search).

But the Times archives articles by region, so you can find interesting articles (not necessarily the essay) that way too.

Anyway I find many of their travel articles very interesting.
