News You Can Use? USAirways Sale to Europe

Just opened an e-mail from USAirways announcing a sale on routes from the US to Frankfurt, Madrid, Munich, and Paris on specifc dates in August and September. Looks like fares are in the $400+ range from the East Coast. Hope someone can use this info.

Just to add, the $400+ price does not include tax. Also, seats are very limited. I plugged in PHL as the departure city (USAirway hub) to see availability, and only the Madrid & Paris routes still have seats left. One can fly to FRA & MUC for similar price in Nov, but not for Aug/Sept.
Tickets have to be purchased by 8/13/04.

Betsy:
I am currently on hold with USAir, but THANKS for the tip. I had purchased tix to Frankfurt at $930 for September.
Been checking for two months-never went down--UNTIL TODAY! Now listed at $573!
Let's see if they hold to their word-I was told that if the price went down, and I 'caught'it, a voucher for the differnce in price would be issued for future travel. That's $350! I hope it works! Stay tuned!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
It took 21 minutes on hold (at work, no less!) but I have been issued a travel voucher for $362 for future travel with USAir and NO blackout dates!!!!!
I'm going to treat myself to a dandy Auf Wiedersehen dinner my last night in Germany--I'll make a toast to Betsy!

This is actually one sale that has (had) numerous seats available! I jumped on this right away and purchased a ticket for my sister-in-law to visit us in Munich (from PIT) from Aug. 19-30. 525 USD. With the strong Euro, that's one of the cheapest trans-atlantic tix I've ever purchased, let alone in the sky-hi August travel season (and the best part is she gets to fly on Lufthansa metal via FRA, as opposed to that piece of **** between between PHL and MUC - one of the oldest birds in the sky!).

Finally, USAirways does something to make me happy

Rach, was there a 'change fee' involved in your transaction?

Travelnut:
NO change fee! Just a "refund" in the form of future travel voucher--no strings!

When American Airlines lowered their price on a flight we had booked, they gave us a cash refund rather than a voucher. (By cash, I actually mean a credit against our credit card account.)

Last month, I was able to get a great deal on USAirways for a multi-city trip over Christmas.

Total Airfare: $647
Jacksonville to London to Columbus to Jacksonville

JAX-LGW (Via PHL)
LGW-CMH (Via PHL)
CMH-JAX (Via CLT)

I've seen it as low as $616 recently too. Now lets keep our fingers cross that they stay in business!
