new york with a nine years old boy
I'm flying to N.Y. in 10 days with my son (9 years old). What could I do there to please both of us? Is there anything that I should absolutely do with him? Thanks

You should re-post this over on the United States forum

The Gates in Central Park will be up.

Museum of Natural History... planetarium; Intrepid museum on the Hudson (airplanes); ferry rides. Just a start... good advice to repost on US forum.

Go to SERENDIPITY in the E. 60s for their famous frozen chocolate drink. Also try to have lunch at MARS 212 on Broadway and 48th (or is it 49th?). The food isn't that great, but you go up to the restaurant in a space ship, and are served by "alien" waiters. My kids loved it when they were your son's age.

At that age, my son loved the Statue of Liberty, Natural History Museum ("I could stand and look at this dinosaur all day"), Empire State Building, IBM Center, Boat Trip around Manhattan.

All of the above are great suggestions, particularly the Museum of Natural History, and Serendipity.
The Bronx zoo is also a standout and the South Street Seaport might be entertaining if you get a good day. Here's a good link with lots of NYC info: http://www.linkcity.be/nl/page.php?p=3090 |
Don't miss Rockefellar Center ( 5th Ave. between 49th & 50th)....it's always fun to see...or do (ice skating).
