New Years in Germany

It may be a little early, but we are thinking of going to Germany for New Years this year. Have never been there but normally when I go to a European country during this time frame I like to go to two or three cities. Which cities are must sees in Germany? And which city would be the best for the New Years celebration?

It totally depends on what you're looking for. Berlin has the biggest party (Brandenburg Gate). Dresden is always a good idea, too, and the feedback I got from folks who attended the celebrations in Dresden was very positive as well.

I personally prefer the quieter celebrations with a theatre/concert and delicious meal.

It's (almost??) all DIY in Munich. Ans since people are still filthy rich, DIY means everywhere. ALDI sell all the stuff you need, champagne and rockets.

There is one clear answer: Berlin. The New Year's celebration in Berlin is amazing - expect a million people on the streets around Brandenburg Gate, several stages with live music, food and drink and super fireworks!

We spent New Year's Eve in Munich a few years ago and it was amazing! So much fun! I'd highly recommend Munich. As for other places to see, that depends on your interests- castles, cars, etc...
