New Years Eve in Paris with three teenagers! ideas?

After hearing that the street scenes in London are not the place for our family of teens, we decided to visit Paris for New Years Eve and a few subsequent days. We are locked in with an apartment from VacationsinParis.com in arr. 2. Would a walk over to the Eiffel Tower for fireworks be a fun activity for us to celebrate New Years Eve? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds good to me. You'll be surprised how quiet it becomes a little past midnight when the metro stops running. I also advise keeping away from Avenue des Champs-Elysées for NYE. It can be rather hectic.

My guess is that the thing that teenagers would like the most is the crowd of 250,000 on the Champs Elysées. The street closes around 8pm and stays closed until they can get it cleaned up around 3am.

There were will tourists at the Eiffel Tower but no fireworks other than personal roman candles (which are illegal anyway).

The metro and the entire suburban train system operate free from 7pm on December 31st until noon on January 1st.

There were will tourists = there will be tourists (I don't know what happened there!)

I sure wouldn't walk to the Eiffel Tower from the 2nd for no reason. I think maybe you made a mistake and are thinking about Bastille Day with the fireworks. There is lots of stuff usually going on in the Bastille area, though, you might go there (around the column and the place) on NY eve.

I'd take everyone to Bofinger for dinner.

Thanks. On TV, I thought I saw fireworks around the Eiffel tower, but maybe it was Champs Elysee. Thanks for all the info. Next I'll google Bofinger to see what you guys are talking about.
