The same story came to me by the way of stay out of the malls so thanks for calming me and confirming that this is a hoax.

Thank you, Vita. My church put up a wall of remembrance to celebrate the lives of those lost. Several parishioners died in the attacks as well as many friends of parishioners. People here aren’t making the geographical distinction; it was an attack on all of us.

I just got back from the mall. The workers (who were in costume) were the only scary thing about my trip! I find this urban legend particularly funny because I heard it from several sources, regarding their "friend of a friend," who were quite convinced it was true. Apparently, they all have the same friend of a friend. And, by the way, I don't know about where you live, but I cannot fathom how many "malls" there are (whether strip, outdoor, or indoor) that are within a hundred mile radius of me. They are simply too numerous, making the urban legend that much more absurd.
