New Van Gogh painting found
A painting by Van Gogh has been lying unrecognised in a museum store room for years.
It is now confirmed to be by him.
It can be seen at the museum in Zwolle.
Zwolle is coincidently a nice place to visit as a day out.

And a Titian was misidentified by Christie's and was worth millions.

Thanks for that info Hetismij - Are there other Van Goghs in the same museum?
Can I ask you at the same time ; Does hetismij mean "have you got me"? in Dutch. I've always been curious about your "name".

Het is mij means it's me.
As far as I know they only have the one Van Gogh. Lots of other good painting though. I shall have to take myself off there one of these days to see it for myself.

Hetismij, you do realize that your screenname is only a literal translation of the words "it is me" and that the sentence in this translation doesn't mean anything in Dutch do you? Not trying to step on your toes, just wondering ...

I was close enough - I know that mij in Dutch means 'my'(pronounced may)in Afrikaans. 'Het' in Afrikaans means 'Have'. I put the two together with the 'is', so had an incling it was something to do with the explanation that you gave Hetismij. We would say " dit is ek" or faster 'dis ek!
Thanks so much!

Vakantie yes I do realise that. That was why I chose it - a literal Dutch translation of an English expression, which doesn't really mean anything in Dutch- it suits me, an English person in the Netherlands.
