New Travel Alerts?!?!

Is Ireland included in the new travel alerts. We're traveling 12/26-1/2 from the U.S.

As an Irish man, living here most of my life, I can assure you that there is nothing to fear. I heard something about Ireland being on a travel alert, but have not heard the details. Despite what you may read, we are a fully function normal society and as safe as any country in the world. Like all cities, you need to keep your wits about you, there are always a few bad eggs, but nothing to put you off. Once you get out of Dublin, all you will see if country side and great views. If you need more specific info, feel free to ask

I hope I don't come off as too morbid by saying this, but your chances of being killed or injured in an auto accident on the way to the airport far exceed the chances of you perishing in some incident of terrorism in Ireland.

Go and enjoy your trip!

There is something to be feared in Ireland: The Irish blarney. It's well, alive and thriving.

I'm with Bookchic on this. In fact your chances of being killed in a plane crash or any other travel related venture are greatest in a car on the way to the airport.

Or stepping into the road in front of a car after one too many drinks, or choking when brushing your teeth, or walking downstairs in the morning.

You are more likely to be killed by a member of your own family than you are to be killed by terrorists
