New TGV connection from Paris to Barcelona

SNCF has opened the high speed connection from Figueres, in the spanish frontier, to Paris. The ride will last around 5 hours (similar to what is right now between Hendaye and Paris, at the other corner of the Pyrenees). It will begin running on the 19th of December, and there will be the possibility of connecting with the trains to Barcelona, making it a 7 hours trip.

The atlantic connection to Paris has long been a good option for those of us living in the north of Spain, and I think that this long awaited train will do the same for Cataluña.

Check in voyages.sncf , tgv-europe or renfe

Sounds good, while waiting for the missing high speed tracks to actually be built.

Well, it wouldn´t be really fair to get those high speed tracks there and not from Bordeaux to Hendaye ...

Once you get used to it, 5 hours from the frontier to Paris is not so bad ...
