Very interesting with marvelous photos. These bring back a lot of memories. We have gone whizzing by Le Lavendou [?]but didn't stop.

Dina, I have so enjoyed reading your travelogue! I eagerly awaited your pages on the Riviera, as my husband and I visited that area (and Provence) this past May. Your first picture in Nice was of the Hotel West End. This was the hotel we stayed in our last two nights in Nice. We started our trip with 4 days in Nice at the Primotel Suisse up the Promenade from the West End, right around the corner from the Cours Salaya. I loved Nice. I agree with you, I would be happy to return there and just visit the area. I can still see that blue water! Thanks for the memories!!

Thanks, Nancy and Daphne. I took the picture of the Hotel West End not only because it was so attractive, but I saw that man standing on his balcony pointing a camera in our direction, so I snapped him too. <BR>Our hotel was not in that class! But I have some colorful memories of cheap hotels. As Jay Leno said (years before the Tonight Show), as a successful stand-up comic he still played dives because "nothing funny ever happens in the back of a limosine."
