Yes, I know, but we are sentimental. Where is your beef restaurant ? You said it's two hours from A Coruna but didn't mention the town or the name of the restaurant. Thanks.

If you want to drive 2-1/2 hours from A Coruña, then you can head east to Castilla y Leon to Bodega el Capricho in Jiménez De Jamuz. The oxen (chalet de buey), from Galicia, is outstanding and probably the best you'll find anywhere (www.bodegaelcapricho.com).

Thanks Robert. That place is right on the road to La Coruna. Maybe we'll stop to get some strength before visiting the Gaudi thing - boy, is it ugly ! in Astorga and the walls of Lugo.

Remember, you'll need reservations at Bodega el Capricho, especially on the weekends. It's very popular and people come from all over for the chuletón de buey.

According to Goolge that is a 290km drive. All of it highway some of it tolled roads. It had better be good for a round trip of 580km (over half a tank of fuel).
The restaurant I wrote about is just 2km from me near to Escarion. That is about 163 km away from A Courña.

We'd be driving from Madrid to La Coruna. The restaurant Robert mentioned is a couple of kms off that road. Not out of the way at all.
