I sign up with this forum to help you because I am a retail/ consultant pharmacist. First of all you need to ask your pharmacy to call insurance for vacation override. It will take a lot of times but we've done so many times for our patients and most of them were approved. So it depends on your pharmacist and his/her staff willing to do or not. That's the extra job for them, they gain nothing but spending their times on the phone with the insurance to get your vacation medication approved, please ask them nicely, don't demand, they will do that for you.
Sometimes, it will be cheaper if you pay 3 months supplies at once out of your pockets especially if you are taking generic medications.
If you don't mind, let me know what meds you are taking and what insurance you have I can have better answers for you.
