I've been wondering how long those low prices would hold ... much lower than museum prices in cities like Paris and Rome. However, I do think that some Greek ancient sites & museums have "winter closing" times ( 3 pm vs 5 or 7 pm) longer in the calendar year than other countries (sometimes Oct. thru March). I know that it's a budget measure -- to avoid having a 2nd shift of guards -- but it does require advance research & planning by travelers. And sometimes it happens without warning ... one shows up at 2:30 in May, and guess what? they've decided to close at 3 pm that day! I've learned to check & double-check.

Obviously those are dramatic increases, but the sights are well worth it. I hope at least a bit of that money will go toward upkeep. I was disappointed on Delos to find a couple of the marvelous mosaics with a massive weed growing between the viewing location and the mosaic - impossible to get a good photo, and not a satisfying viewing. I wondered, how tough can it be to go around to all those mosaics (admittedly there are plenty) and pull up just those weeds that obstruct the views of the mosaics? Maybe now they can do it.
