New in Milan or Venice?
For a project and upcoming trip, I'm looking for new high-end hotels, restaurants and/or shops in Milan and Venice. Anybody have any recent positive experiences? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Don't now how new you mean. In Venice the Ca'Pisani & the Sant Angelo hotels are relatively new, but there are a few others that have been mentioned here.
|
Sorry. I'm thinking of places that have opened within the past year.

In Milan there is a cool hotel called "Town House 31". You can find out about them at www.designhotels.com . Ciao, Melissa

Another vote for 'Townhouse 31'. Just read about it in a magazine. Seems very popular with fashion people. Only some 20 rooms.
|
Those are great tips. Thanks. Would you happen to remember the magazine where you read about Town House 31?

Hm... it's the best monthly fashion/travel/food magazine in Switzerland called 'Bolero' and it has a Milan special right now.

Brettsy,
I found a few more new places for you.

In Milan, Il Gattopardo is a bar that used to be a church. It's been open for about 18 months. It has a buffet, with hot and cold food & is open late. Closed on Mondays. phone 02/3453-7699.

In Venice, I think (but am not sure) Osteria Vecio Fritolin near the Rialto bridge is relatively new.
http://www.veciofritolin.com/english/index_eng.htm

Also in Venice, Ristorante San Giorgio looks wonderful on the website.
http://www.ristorantesangiorgio.it/
Castello, 2185 - 30122 Venezia - Tel 041 5231 993
