New Imperial Wharf Train Station
 

Anyone have any information on trains arriving or departing from this new London station? It is right next to our hotel and though there is excellent bus transportation from there , the train might come in handy on occasion.

It's hard to imagine many such occasions. You CAN get to it from Gatwick, by changing at Clapham Junction or East Croydon. Or there are trains to West Brompton every 20-30 mins to connect with the tube's District Line.

Otherwise, of very limited use to visitors. The handful of trains in each direction are less frequent than trains from London to Oxford or Manchester.

Guess I'll stick to the buses. I can get to Earl's Court in under 10 minutes or King's Road in 5

I don't even know where this station is.

It's rare for me to be stumped about London, but this has done it.

CW, It's near Chelsea Harbour

Those peeps don't take public transport.

There are trains every half hour to Clapham Junction or Willesden Junction.
Clapham Junction would be useful for trains to Brighton, Richmond, Hampton Court or Windsor, amongst many other places.
Willesden Junction has trains to Wembley, Watford and suburbs of little interest to tourists.

You can't

You have to get a train to Clapham Junction, then a train back to Victoria, then a train out again. Under some circumstances, this MIGHT be quicker than getting a bus & tube to Victoria. But, since trains to Clapham J are mostly only every half-hour, it's unlikely.

The rail site said take the train to Willesden and transfer to the train to Gillingham.

There's no train from Willesden to Gillingham. You get another train to St Pancras, then another, high-speed (and premium priced), train to Gillingham. Usually changing at West Hampstead to do so.

There's no way of avoiding central London, apart from getting the North London overground from Willesden J to Stratford, the bus to Stratford Intl then the premium high speed ervice. Which is a hell of a cost and a hell of an amount of time wasted to avoid getting the tube at Earl's Court

flanner, I just checked again and it says just 1 transfer at Willesden. This is Gillingham , Kent nor Gillingham, Dorset

bahn.de says there are no direct trains from Willesden to Gillingham (Kent) - it gives a routing of Willesden to Euston - then tube to Victoria and then a direct train to Gillingham

It takes a bit of working out, but if you go via Stratford you can do it with one change (well it says two but it's from Stratford to Stratford International)

Contact it (whatever "it" is)and tell it it's trading under false pretences because flanneruk's said it's wrong and he's infallible.

Unlike Bahn.de which clearly doesn't know about the fast trains from St Pancras to Gillingham (well: what do you expect? Bloody Germans)

And, BTW, a transfer from Stratford to Stratford Intl means leaving the station and getting a bus. It also then requires you to use a premium-priced service, which still gets you to Gillingham later than you'd have got there if you'd got the tube straight to Victoria
