New Hilton Hotel

Is anyone familiar with the Hilton Westend? Any information about its location and facilities would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

would you perhaps give us a hint as to what city it is located in?

Hilton by the WestEnd City Center is on the "Pest" side of the Danube River in Budapest; well located for getting around the city & seeing the sites. If you log into the Hilton website, it can provide you the specifics on exactly where it is (have a map) and the nature of the facilities.

ALSO, there's another Hilton located in the Castle Hill district. From the exterior, it's got alot of character; however, presume it's the same on the interior as most Hiltons. Below is the description off their website.

Hess A. Ter 1-3, BUDAPEST, Hungary H-1014

Tel:+36/(0)1/4886600, Fax:+36/(0)1/4886644

The Hilton Budapest is located in the heart of the historic Castle District, part of the World Heritage designated by the UNESCO and directly next to Hungary's gothic coronation church - the Matthias Church - and the fairy-tale-like Fishermen's bastion. Convenient both to the city's most importamt sights as well as to downtown business area.
The 6 story Hilton Budapest incorporates a contemporary structure with the 13 century remains.

Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Westend? Just wondered if it was a typical Hilton and if it has an executive club floor?

The only problem with the Hilton in the Castle Hill District is that at night you'll need to take a cab. I wouldn't recommend walking through the parks at night through the Buda hills (maybe I'm just being a paranoid New Yorker but...) While the Castle Hill District is beautiful at night - there isn't much going on - however, down on the Pest side - well, that's another story.

Hi Marsha!I'm Hungarian,a professional tour guide and living some 10minutes from the new Hilton. It is in a shopping center. It is the biggest shopping center in Hungary, called Western City Center, because the Wstern Railway Station is next door.Ther are some 500 shops,Benetton,Espirit etc.Restaurant with Italian.Spanish or Indian food.It has NOTHING to do with Hungary or Europe at all.The area around is not bad but you can't compare it with the city center. If money is not a problem my advice is to stay on the Pest riverside Mariott,Intercontinental,Hyatt.Staff is not so good in Mariott.Forget the Westend Hilton!
