New french website with detailed aerial photos

Has anyone been successful in logging in to the new french website with detailed aerial photos of french territories? It is said to be more detailed than Google Earth but I haven't been able to get on to it yet. They have aparently had several million connections in the first few hours but hopefully the demand will ease off soon. Address is: http://www.geoportail.fr

Until further notice, it is impossible to access géoportail -- to many million hits. However, there is a back door to it -- www.pagesjaunes.fr -- which gives you the option for any address in France to "see an aerial photo of the address" -- these are the same photos from géoportail, and you can zoom in an out and drag them along to other places.

Just logged on and was zeroing in on a rural site in far west Burgundy, traveling down the road, when the connection was cut with a high-use notice, about five minutes into the process. Since I don't use Google Earth I can't compare, but the shots were pretty sharp. Would have liked one more "zoom."

I use PageJaune all of the time. You can find addresses easily for business and then you can use the aerial views.

PageJaune will also street photos in many large cities. Again, if you're looking for your spot in Paris, you can zoom closer and see the details.
