New budget airlines flying out of NYC to Europe
I remember reading that there are some smaller budget airlines that now fly overseas from NYC. Do you know which airlines these are? I assume they would not show up on a search engine like Travelocity. I'm trying all sorts of diferent options looking for resonable airfare this summer. Thanks.

The only one I know of is Eurofly, which flies out of JFK to cities in Italy. One poster here fkew Eurofly to Bologna and was quite satisfied.

And Maxjet, I think.
Aer Lingus is moving into the space between "budget" and conventionally priced airlines. And Air India seems to show up here, from time to time as a budget choice on some routes. Maybe also Royal Air Jordanian also (or some airline from the middle east). Best wishes, Rex |
Maxjet is a "discount" all-business class airline from JFK and IAD to London Stansted. But indeed, they may be cheaper than coach class on regular airlines during the summer months.
[And one may call Eos a "discount" all-First Class airline too.] Besides Aer Lingus, another European airline that tries to place itself as a "budget/value" airline is Icelandair. If you're going to Spain, you may find that AirEuropa has decent fares from Newark; you'll actually be flying Continental, but the fare is sometimes lower on AirEuropa than booking with CO. |
Oh, Pakistan International flies JFK to Manchester like 4 days a week, enroute to Pakistan. That's another possibly cheap airline to Europe.

Maxjet is running sale. Purchase tickets by 3/31 (fly anytime in 2006). $750 RT inclusine of taxes and fees. Maxjet is all business class. JFK to London Sanstead.
