We stayed at The Marais House this past November for 4 nights. When are you going? I can email you directly what my thoughts are on this B & B. It depends on what is important to you if you would like it or not, I wouldn't stay there again.

Oh the reason Yann doesn't want his address published is I think he is worried about being broken into for his antiques, also we would not want to have anyone drop by to take a tour. The address is correct. It is an old sign factory.

Just curious, averyjade. When you say "we would not want..." does this mean you have an interest in this property?

Averyjade, How do I email you directly without you or I posting our emails. Lord knows I get enough spam as it is.

I think that house is truly beautiful, if only I had the funds, or the funds and Ralph Fiennes to stay with me

Hello Averyjade

My wife and I were thinking of staying there. Why wouldn't you stay there again?

When are you thinking of going? The reason I ask is lippincottfarm another talker is going this month and when they get back maybe we could all compare notes.
There were things I liked and things I didn't.

I'm so curious as to why you're so reluctant to post your thoughts about the place -- people give both positive and negative comments, all the time.

Are you afraid to hurt their business unfairly or something?

averyjade, that is sort of the point of these forums, share your experience..you can be gentle about the things you were unhappy with but you really can feel free to post the good and the bad about your stay there. We all do it, it is really helpful to people trying to make decisions.

Hello Averyjade

We are planning on going for a week in July.

Could you let me know why you wouldn't stay there again? Would love some feedback as I haven't fully committed and would love to hear any comments, as this may help in putting us in the right direction.

Merci!

The reason I wouldn’t go back and stay at this B & B are more to do with personalities and subtle feelings also how I felt about staying in somebody’s private home, which I find hard to put into words. This isn’t concrete information. I too would write and explain about my stay at the Marais House if I had an awful experience like the person that wrote the review on trip advisor. SO -The house was clean and has an interesting decor. It appeared to be non-smoking, I felt safe in the area, and I liked my room as I felt it was a bit bigger then an average Paris room and it had a fireplace, the bed could have been softer. I liked his 2 dogs.
I was trying to be helpful to lippincottfarm as I wanted to communicate directly to ascertain if my feelings about my stay (not about the physical place) would be helpful to her.

Sorry for the early posts
- I did a typo and typed “we ” instead off “he”,
- Asked for more information,
- If the trip was already booked and when,
- If we could communicate outside have this board.
My goal was to not wreck or give somebody sleepless nights the week leading up to their trip due to my subjective views.
To remedy the little information about MH, I suggested that when Lippincottfarm got back we should share notes; I thought this would be a good way to discuss this property with another person’s insight and then it would be more productive. So to close and to end the speculation I do not have any interest in this property.
This is my comfort zone.

Did you notice that in the articles, the owner sounds a bit like a pretentious prick with attitude?

Just a vibe. could be totally off.

And for my closing remark I will let Fishee sum it up.
