New Bayern Tickets

Jump to last reply

We just returned from Germany and were very happy to learn about the new offers on the Bayern Ticket. The old ticket was up to 5 people traveling together on regional trains (2nd class) for 29 Euros.

The new price structure is a better deal if two people are traveling together. A 2-person Bayern Ticket is now 26 E (add 4 E more for each additional person).

They also offer 1st class option for the Bayern Ticket. It is basically the same as before, but now you can pay a supplement to travel in the 1st class section of the train. The fare for the 1st person is 33 E, with an extra 15 E for each additional person.

Please remember that all of the old Bavaria Ticket rules still apply (Regional trains, after 9 am on weekdays, etc...)

We would consider the 1st class option on longer journeys with luggage and multiple trains. All in all, I think this new plan is pretty good!
