new air route Edinburgh - Atlanta
The Scotsman Newspaper reports that Delta Air Lines will announce a daily service from Edinburgh to Atlanta next week as they focus on international flying as part of their Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection restructuring plan. Flights are to commence from May 2006.
Edinburgh is already linked to the USA at New York/Newark by Continental. The service has been a huge success with a frequency upgrade after just one year.

The article in yesterday's NY Times also mentioned that Delta is adding other international routes, such as direct flights to Venice. That confused me, because I've already flown Delta to Venice (from JFK) in the past, so that didn't sound new to me.
Unless they meant from Atlanta?
