Netherlands quarantine?

So TODAY tne Nethrlands announces quartine for all arriving US passengers? IF this is true, what about all the folks on the US to AMS overnight flights. Was this known before departure? It seems to me if countries are going to impose this kind of restrictions, there needs to be at LEAST a 48 hour window?! (I read this one place, so not 100% sure it is true) But HU and I have a flight to Venice on Friday night - situations like this are nerve racking!

It was known before any overnight flights left the US. Unlike in the UK visitors are not forced into a quarantine hotel at huge expense, but are expected to obey the quarantine rules.
That said chances of being caught out are miniscule.
There are numerous links from the above link which explain it all., including this: https://www.government.nl/topics/cor...ory-quarantine

All in English.
