Nero's Golden House-need reservation?

Hi,
I've gotten my reservations for the Scavi Tour and my walking tours with Enjoy Rome but I can't seem to get thru on the phone number given on this forum for Nero's Golden House. Has anyone been there recently and was able to get in without a reservation? I would be going there around 5-6 PM?
Thanks for your help.

I had reserved in advance for the Domus Aurea and the Borghese Gallery via
Email service

They charge a commission of course. My reservations were there as promised, you pay for the actual ticket when you arrive at the venue.

Or you could wait until you get to Rome and try having your hotel make the Domus Aurea reservation a few days in advance. I don't know how busy they get now; I went in late Sept. last year

I would try online. I could never get through from Rome by phone last October. We ended up just showing up about 9:00 a.m. and were able to get in by 10:00. I am sure a lot will depend on the time of year though.

I made a reservation by email through Select Italy, recommended in the Frommer's Guide Book. I believe that there is only 1, or perhaps 2 English-speaking tours per day, so a reservation is highly recommended. Remember to bring a jacket! I went in late May. The site is underground and very cold.
Have a wonderful trip,
Susan
