NeoPatrick,

Thank you for a wonderful trip report. I like your New York trip report also and hopefully in the next couple of days I can read your Paris report. Best wishes to you and Lee.

Much Aloha

Great info!

Many thanks for sharing the reports, as always, they are both informative and interesting.

About the apartment you steyed, could you please tell me it would be comfortable for 3 adults? From the site, it quotes for 3-4 persons too, but seems only one bed room.

Darned if I can remember if the sofa in the living room was a sofa bed or not, but probably so. It wasn't too comfortable to sit on, so it probably WAS a sofa bed. LOL

At least you don't have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom, which is nice when it's more than just one couple.

Just another fan chiming in to say how much I am enjoying reading about you and Lee in Rome. You are such a faithful correspondent and it's a wonderful way for those of us sitting at home to anticipate our next trip - and to remember our LAST trip! Especially in Rome where we've had such wonderful times.

Stay safe and keep content.

I am so glad this got topped - I missed this before! Great report Patrick. I am saving your restaurant thoughts for our next trip.

Thanks for the reply, I really like the location, but not sure whether it would be all right for three females.

Patrick, we were able to juggle our schedule and book three days at the Minerva for next June '08. Lucia is as lovely as you said. Thanks again for the great rec. (Pretty soon i'm going to have to pay you a commission!)

NeoPatrick Sep 7th, 2007 06:49 PM

Let me know when you need my address to send the check, mvor.

JudyC, one of the three would certainly be at a disadvantage getting the living room. The "king" bed in the bedroom is really two twins.

mvor Sep 11th, 2007 05:08 PM

NP, the check is in the mail...

Actually, two years ago when we stayed in the Bienvenue a Paris--Place Bourg-Tibourg apartment (which I believe you were considering at the time), I was going to leave you a little birthday prezzie as a thank you but then you went w/the Latin Quarter studio (which I also have bookmarked).

NeoPatrick Sep 11th, 2007 05:15 PM

Oh, mvor, I was thinking of you this summer -- but didn't know it was you. We had dinner one night on the square at Bourg Tibourg (the place that means "firecrackers"?) and I was looking over at the entrance to that apartment.

Did you book Minerva through SleepinItaly or direct with Lucia? I'm curious if it was cheaper that way if you did.

mvor Sep 11th, 2007 06:02 PM

We booked directly through Lucia for 140€ vs. 150€ at SleepInItaly. We're only staying three nights so I would have been pleased to pay either price. No deposit, just confirm a month before and pay in cash upon arrival. (This was after a stream of emails back and forth. I think she was surprised that I wanted to reserve so far in advance for early June but it worked out.)

We waited too long to book Tibourg this year and ended up in a tiny/inexpensive apartment in the first because my husband wanted A/C. Of course it was cold and rained most of the last week in June but we did use it one day since it was so muggy.
Someone posted here earlier in the year w/questions about the Tibourg deposit--which I answered--and I've been curious to see how she liked it (of course I don't remember her name and I've been too lazy to search).
