Needed: Tour Guide Suggestions for Almalfi Coast

My husband and I are going to be in Sorrentofor 2 full days and want to hire an English speaking guide for our first day to take us all around the Almalfi Coast. I have done searches on this forum and came up with nothing. Anyone have any suggestions for a good, fun guide to take around the two of us for a day (we are both 33 years old). Thanks!

Do a search for Renato Cuomo--he is a pro.

Hi En - These Sorrento-based drivers have all been recommended here -

www.tourofitaly.com
www.francescomarrapese.com
www.cuomonet.it

Hope this helps ...

Francesco Marrapese is a pro AND a doll. His English is impeccable and he is charming, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. Highly recommend. Be sure to ask for Francisco, not one of his colleagues.

A friend of ours used Giovanni from tourofitaly and liked him. I just wanted to check out some other people before we finalized our booking. We really want to be alone on the tour also so that we can do things on our own time. Thanks so much for the help. I am emailing Francesco to see what is available. Thanks!

Enlehman76: I hope that you will post info about the responses you receive, including prices.

Ira: Did you hire both of these guides?

Francesco is booked so we can't use him. We wanted to go alone and he said he charges 45E per hour/min 5 hours. Not sure about a group tour. He has a mercedes van that holds 6-7 people. Giovanni from tourofitaly charges 250E (in cash) for an 8 hour tour no matter how many people are in the car(up to 4 people). Cuomo charges 250E for the day...waiting to hear back on how many hours a day is.

Eks - I don't think Ira has ever hired Francesco. He used Cuomo, if I remember. I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong ...

Thanks, Steve!!

I used Sr. Cuomo twice. I had both positive and negative experiences with him.
