Needed: Advice on going frugal to Norway, hostells?
My husband and I are planning a two week trip to Norway in May. We are frugal people and would like any information on youth hostells or camping in Oslo or other areas. Also, need info on possibly touring via bus. I heard about a 10 or 14 day unlimited pass? Any other information about going frugal is welcome!
P.S. I realize Norway is an expensive place to visit.

I liked the Anker Hostel. But it turns out that the price of the adjacent Best Western Anker Hotel is not that much for, when you compare the price for a twin room with linens and breakfast at the two places. With a private room at the Anker Hostel, though, it's more like a studio flat, because it includes a fridge, private bathroom, and kitchen facilities in the room.

Hi gard. Haven't seen you post in a while. Maybe I just missed it.
"Frugal" means "thrifty" or "very careful with spending money." Which is what lorigirl will need with the costs in Norway.
One frugal tips is to avoid alcohol. It's very expensive. If you do drink alcohol find out how much you can legally bring in and take it with you.
My liter of whiskey helped a lot in 2002. And that was when the dollar was strong.
