Need visa for Turkey???
I am getting conflicting info about getting a visa for Turkey before I get there or simply standing in a line at the airport there and getting one.
Advice?? |
where are you from?
|
If you are a US citizen:
I was there just 3 months ago and I got my visa on arrival for a cost of $20 US. There was no line but of course that's not always the case. There's no reason to go to the trouble and extra expense of getting a visa in advace. If you are not a US citizen please check the requirements of your country. |
as P_M said - if you are from the US, VERY easy to get one at the airport upon arrival.

So sorry!! Yes, I'm in the USA. Thanks so much for the replies! I appreciate it!

Yes, you line up at a visa window before going to passport control, hand over your US passport and $20 or 15 euro in cash (no card or TC taken, and no change given), and you will get a sticker visa valid 3 months in your passport. You then go to passport control.
While there may be a line, it moves quickly as you don't have to fill in any form or answer any questions. It's more like payment of tourist tax. |
I have a question on this as well. I will be traveling to turkey from Greece in a few weeks. I am a us citizen so from what I understand I can get my visa there however, all of the information I have read is about getting the visa at airport. I will be traveling by car or ferry (haven't decided). I know the visas can be given at ferry crossing for single day, but what about for the 90day visa?

Sticker-type visa valid 90 days can be obtained at any Turkish port of entry and land border crossing.
