Need train help from Rome
Hello, my family and I are going to ROME and need recs on which train apps to use. Also, which train stations are best to go to from Rome to Amalfi Coast, Florence, Milan, and Venice? Thank you!

That's a lot of territory, may I ask how long is this trip? I hope you have at least 3 weeks.

Since you're talking about Rome to all these places, I hope you're not thinking of day trips to these places, returning to Rome in between. While Florence can be done as a day trip, the others are too far. How many nights do you have? You would do better to fly into Venice, then do Milan, Florence, Rome, and Amalfi and fly out of Naples. That's if you have enough nights for all that.

I always use Trainline in Europe. The prices are the same as the individual country trains and I don't have to keep multiple apps on my phone.

The OP is a one and done -- probably not still interested.

In general you don't need the apps if you don't want them. Just show the conductor the email.
BUT the apps show realtime train locations. They are useful if delays happen. The OP was asking about Italy it's only two apps at most. TrenItalia and Italo. |
