Need tour guide recommendations for Rome

I've searched the posts and I know many guides have been mentioned, but the contextrome tour schedules aren't lining up with ours for late december in rome. Any suggestions for either group tours or private guides for first time visitors ?

We used www.romaround.it in October and LOVED it. The best money we spent on the whole trip. Sandra runs romaround and was a pleasure to work with. Mauro Scarpati was our guide and we wished we had more time in Rome to book another tour with him.

Enjoy!

Totally adored Francesca, recommended in the link above. Hoping you can connect with her!

Check out http://www.romewalks.com/.
We joined two small group tours, Vatican and the Calliseum/Forum, and thought the Rome Walks guides were exceptional.

Last month, I had several Context tours (they were great) and also a Pilgrims Way Tour with Anno Domini Organization. I was also very impressed with Anno Domini; here's their link:

Unfortunately the Context Rome schedule of tours doesn't line up with ours at all, and I'm definitely looking into the other options mentioned. We will be staying at the Albergo del Senato Hotel, and they have offered that they have their own English speaking tour guide, has anyone taken advantage of that? thanks!

We used Enjoy Rome for two tours a few years ago; they are very reasonable in price (now 18 Euro per person) and we were happy with their services. Both times the groups were small, no more than 10 people in either group and the guides were native English speakers with good knowledge of the city and sites.
