Need to track down some organic, herbal stuff in Venice

Just my luck that two weeks out before we leave for Italy and Slovenia, I've been struck down with gastritis. All of a sudden, I can't drink coffee, tea, beer, wine or eat bread, berries, oranges, pasta, tomato sauce. Milk and soft cheese do me in, but LUCKILY, I seem to be able to tolerate hard cheeses.

Oh well, I have found things I can eat. I just have to deal with it over there. I can bring all these herbal supplements that are sustaining me through this process, so I'm good there. But I can't lug all the food that's helped me through this, and I'm hoping to find some of them--or an equivalent-- in Venice. I've been able to find one or two listings for "bio" stores in Venice, so that's good,

So here is my "must" list for survival:
Yogi Ginger Tea or equivalent (I'm bringing a starter set since this is my lifeline)
Unsweetened Rice Drink (with or without vanilla)
Unsweetened Almond Milk (with or without vanilla)
Raw Almonds

I'm hoping that I can find red apples and papaya in markets.

Thanks!!! AZ

Is the NaturaSi store in Mestre on your list? Before heading there, you might solicit the help of an Italian speaker to call them and see if they have the items you named in stock:

My cousin is lactose intolerant. He tells me he went to this place based on research before he left home. (He just googled vegetarian food stores in Venice.)

Naturalia
Fondamenta del Gafaro
Dorsoduro

He found a few other places that were less convenient to the apartment they rented, and he didn't go to them. One was in Cannaregio called Cibele and the other was the vegetarian section of Coop Adriatica in (he thinks) Castello. He said there were probably more that he didn't write down, and he was pleasantly surprised it wasn't a bigger problem for him.

Good luck! And have a great trip!

Past the restaurant listings this has some sources for rice milk

You should also take a look inside pharmacies, which often have health food type products, and erbosterie, which often have medicinal type teas.

Thank you both of you. I did find Cibele on my bio list, but Google maps isn't showing its address correctly. Luckily, I will be buying a Tim SIM in the area and hope to ask around there.

Sandralist--that Mestre store IS on my list. We will be returning from Trieste to Venice via Mestre and I will certainly make that stop then.

Good tip about pharmacies.

Again, thanks.

There is pretty decent bio market on Calle Regina in Santa Croce (a few doors from the restaurant Vecio Fritolin). It doesn't look like much from the outside but there is a back room with more.
