need to buy zurich to venice tickets in advance (train)?

Do the zurich to venice tickets sell out, do we need to order in advance for travel on friday may 23? also, what's the least expensive and best website to use?

On your other thread you said that you were booking the tickets and had the correct web site. Now you're asking for the web site to use? What am I missing?

There are trains every two hours so I really doubt that every train will be full.

the bahn you can't order tickets on (it's good for just seeing what's available) and the trenitalia website was confusing

I'm quoting you from your other thread:

"I used the sbb.ch website that someone recommended."

What happened?

Since I told you about the German train site you must know that I know you can't order tickets for Switzerland and Italy from that site. Why even mention this site as it has no bearing on these tickets?

You can buy the tickets either through Swiss Rail or Trenitalia. The last time I used Swiss Rail, they didn't have e-tickets and would mail their tickets only to addresses in Europe. However, I believe they now have e-tickets. Are you using the English language site for Trenitalia? I don't find it very confusing.

>>>You can buy the tickets either through Swiss Rail or Trenitalia.<<<

No. Trenitalia will sell you that ticket, but require you to pick it up in Italy. Cross border tickets sold by Trenitalia require picking up at stations in Italy with self-service kiosks.

You need to buy Zurich/Milan on sbb.ch. The will not mail out of the country, but I think the do e-tickets now or you can select a station in Switzerland (Zurich) to pick up the ticket. To pick up the ticket in Switzerland, make sure the ticket office for that station has hours that meet your needs.

For Milan/Venice, you can buy that on Trenitalia (e-ticket).
