Twice a year we have stuffed shipped from the US to our Swiss address. We use UPS. Not cheap — about $500 each time in shipping costs — but the service has been very reliable.

I'm thinking part of the problem could be that it is a box. If it was something that could go in a padded enveloped instead, wonder if it would have fared better?

Yeah, I mentioned that upthread. After I left the P.O., I thought "What a dummy, you should have just repackaged it."

Originally, the wedding couple was going to have a reception in Italy a month or so ago that we could have attended and brought the gift. Dang Covid. No idea if/when/where they'll reschedule.

Oh sorry... yes I knew it was you had mentioned the idea earlier :-) that somehow the box automatically put it in a different category than an over-sized envelope. My Switzerland-living friends emailed 3 photos this week from around Lac Leman... dang it is gorgeous there.
I hope your newlyweds like their gift you deserve extra credit on this one Jean!!

Thanks, suze...

Here's hoping the package is received eventually and that they don't have to pay duty....
