Christina Good to know that this is across the board type policy. I was more concerned if the price doubled and then where would we go? You certainly don't want to be without a room in Paris. Maybe I'm over thinking the whole thing - just sounded so scary to me. My husband did read the Paris Perfect Cancellation Policy (we found a 2-bedroom unit on their website as well). He basically said the same thing that you did. We are new to the apartment rentals in Paris - just navigating our way through. Thank you for your input.

I'm doing the Happy Dance today. We have been corresponding to Paris Perfect over the last couple of days via email. Today, after speaking with them (there is a phone for North America EST), we secured an apartment rental in the 7th arrondissement! They were very helpful, answered all our questions and concerns and walked us through the booking/payment process. We needed a breakdown in cost before proceeding making sure there were no surprises. I'm so glad this part of the trip planning is done. Once the date gets closer we can either use their driver to make arrangements (if available) for pick up at the airport as well as a return trip to the airport. We will definitely love the freedom of more room in an apartment. I'm truly excited.
Next time we will explore more apartment rental options.

Does the listing on this apartment clearly display the required city registration number?

I am not clear on exactly what protections these contracts, written in English, ultimately provide to the renter. French courts only recognize contracts written in French.

Paris Perfect is a well established and legitimate agency, and all their rental properties are licensed. They do tend to be more expensive than a lot of other agencies but get pretty much uniformly good reviews.

cherie - using their airport transfer service will usually cost more than a taxi (just under 60 euros) but sometimes makes arrival easier as the driver may have the keys for you.

I'm late weighing in on Haven In but for anyone else considering them - we used them and had zero issues. We had to postpone our trip due to COVID a few times and they were very helpful in rescheduling our trip with no loss of deposit. We'll be using them again during a week stay in November. I have stayed in only one property - St. Germaine Secret - greeter/owner was very friendly and offered great advice on restaurants.

Hello Everyone!

Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful advice and suggestions. We will be using them.. Please forgive my long delay, I have recently been sick with Vertigo and hearing loss in my left ear. I have seen numerous health care professionals (PA, Audiologist, Allergist, ENT Surgeon, Vestibular PT, etc.). If anyone has had an inner ear issues, you will know how difficult this is. I have been told it is residual from covid. The plane ride (cabin pressure on decent) is what I'm concerned about. The doctors seem to think I'm ok to travel.

This trip was a Christmas and birthday trip for our adult son (who will, of course, be with us).

The issue is I have spent so much time taking care of me that I don't have any tours planned. PLEASE - does anyone have any suggestions for small tour groups or private tour groups??? Hopefully, at this late date that I will be able to find small or private tour groups. I'm finding it is very difficult with hearing issues to be in large crowds/groups with the noise level. Thank you Seamus for Michael Osman's information! We have contacted Michael Osman are waiting to heard back. I saw on another thread about a small tour group (had good reviews) but when the computer crashed I lost the information!

Instead of touring the Palais Garnier I always suggest to go and see an opera or ballet there! You can queue up on the day for last minute tickets, which are 10 euros, meaning you get to see most of what you would see on the tour, plus a 2hr+ show, for less than the price of the tour. The box office staff all speak English (and many other languages) and can help you choose the best available seats.

The queue for the box office is in the same place as the entrance for tours, on Rue Scribe, just follow the signs saying "billeterie" or ask the security guards. Arrive when the doors open (10am) and you'll have tickets in hand by 10:30am. While you're here, Ariodante by Handel is playing at the Garnier and La Boheme by Puccini at the Bastille (I'd personally choose the latter; while modern, the Bastille is also a beautiful and impressive building). For apartment rentals, go to Paris Perfect. Honest, excellent service. Good locations. (and in London, London Perfect.)
