Need Spain Hotel Help

We have reservations in the following hotels for the middle of April. Have any of you stayed in one of these, or know if they're relatively cared for, clean places. We're trying to find something that fits our budget and is located near the things we want to see and do.

Barcelona: Jardi
Sevilla: Hotel Husa Sevilla
Rhonda: Hotel Polo
Madrid: Ingles

Thanks in advance for your help.
Jeff, if you are looking for recommendations, the Hotel Mora in Madrid has been highly recommended on this forum. I should be able to tell you more about the Mora once I come back from my May trip to Spain & Portugal.

Regarding Hotel Ingles, Fodor's guide is not crazy about it ("dreary, faded"). If you do a Search by Spain and Ingles, you'll find that, back in Oct 98, a traveller found the Ingles to be OK, but noisy (4 -5am). I would try the Hotel Mora (about $60/nite), Carlos V, or Moderno.

Hi,

I stayed at the Hotel Mora in November, 1998 & was very happy with it. I had reservations at another hotel, but when I arrived they had not heard of me and were not helpful in trying to find another place for me. So much for the confirmation letter in hand! Anyway, I went to the Hotel Mora because I remembered the Fodor's guide gave it a good review. The receptionist managed to find me a room, even though it was a busy weekend. The staff were very courteous & extremely helpful. The room was comfortable & the hotel location was quiet. Also, very close to the Metro & Atocha train station for day trips. I would stay there again.

I've posted about this before, so please forgive me if you've already gotten my thoughts.

My wife and I spent 4 days of our honeymoon at the Hotel Jardi a couple of years ago. It is well kept, clean and friendly, but the rooms are VERY small - even by European standards. Most overlook a quaint little square (Placa del Pi) which is usually quite noisy due to buskers, so you'll want to request an upper floor room (unless you mind walking the stairs). The location is perfect, just off Las Ramblas in the gothic quarter. If you're there over a Sunday, be sure to go by the Cathedral nearby at night as I think this is the only night it is lit up.

In all, we thought the Hotel Jardi was a great budget hotel choice.
