need some suggestions for hotels in florence

my husband and i are planning a very very special anniversary and birthday trip to italy in late april. we are both retired but very active. i am wondering if anyone has ever heard of or has any experience with the Antica Torre Di Via Tornabuoni hotel in florence. any other suggestions in florence would be great.
thanks

We liked the Berchielli, right on the Arno near the famous bridge.

We loved J.K.Place in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, and can't wait to stay there again.

Great location, fabulous staff who can't do enough for you, great breakfast, lovely decor.

WE have stayed at the Tornabuoni Beacchi on via Tournabuoni several times and liked it. Great location; friendly staff, and you might save a few euros; they have several pricing tiers.

Another recommendation for the Antica. Lovely rooftop terrace where breakfast is served as well as pre-dinner cocktails (honor bar). It was mt husband's favorite hotel in Italy. We would return.

We stayed at the the Tournabuoni Beacci hotel. Loved, it! It was a nice surprise to get the delux bedroom Room 102 (huge room, 2 bathrooms!). Loved the location. It also has a rooftop terrace for breakfast. The only thing was wifi worked best in the lounge upstairs but we were just so happy with the room and location it was not a big deal.

The Westin Excelsior on Piazza Ognissanti is a beautiful hotel right on the Arno although it is a bit farther from the Duomo, etc.

With such a budget and for such a special occasion you can even afford a dream like a stay in palace of the '500. Check the website of Palazzo Magnani Feroni http://www.palazzomagnaniferoni.com, it seems to be in another time. And at evening is lit only by candlelight, it is not romantic?
