Need some help/ideas:Paris/Vienna/Berchtesgaden/Paris?

Booked Open Skies to Orly, late Spring, want to fly (i.e., "get to") Vienna, then visit Berchtesgaden (where I lived as a kid), Salzburg, back to Orly, then home. I would really like suggestions. Easy Jet from Orly to Budapest (which I understand is really neat), then to Vienna by train? Vienna to Salzburg, etc., etc.. All suggestions and info will be appreciated, including accommodations. thnx.

how long, zzzot?

do you want to do it all on the train? hire a car at all?

do you want to spend time in Paris as well?

but mainly, how long is your trip?

Thanks for reply. We'll be in Europe 7 days, not counting travel or jet-lag recovery day. No time in Paris, other than at airport(s). Plane, car, train, or, all, whatever seems to be the best. Looking for suggestions. The other alternative would be to head south, either to southern Italy or southern Spain and Portugal. Again, thanks.

In seven days would fly Paris to Budapest or Vienna (not try and do both in your 7 days and also Salzburg) spend three days there then train to Salzburg spend 4 days (Berchtesgaten is an easy day trip from Salzburg on the train, or if you wanted to stay longer in Berchtesgaten you might consider those 4 nights as 1 in Salzburg, 1 in BG and then 2 in Salzburg again) then fly back to Paris.

Be careful though with allowing plenty of time on your flight connections in Paris if they are not on the same ticket. If either of your flights to Paris are delayed and you miss your connection it will be considered the same as if you overslept, got caught in traffic or just forgot. Neither airline will be required to do anything for you. You will likely have to buy a new ticket on the spot. That's expensive and might not be available if you are traveling at a peak time of year.
