Peter

Booked the flights last night. We are stopping in Santa Teresa for two weeks. Will try and make it over to Corsica.

Ciao Yanumpty and Peter,

reading your posts about Sardinia is very interesting and funny!! Well it's good to know that both of you appreciate the island not only for the Costa Smeralda which I don't like at all. Of course is nice and charming with fab resorts but it lacks of feelings and moslty authenticity, that's why my favourite sites are in Barbagia and the great coast down to Iglesias with the several mines sites which I higly recommend you to visit Peter if you didn't get a chance yet!!

For Yanumpty whenever you come to Sardinia in June don't forget to have a fab lunch with the shepherds up in the mountain crests of Barbagia (mostly around Oliena and Orgosolo, very nice also for the murales)

Maybe we'll get the chance to see each other who knows!

Ciao ciao

@Flavio

1. "Costa Smeralda which I don't like at all. Of course is nice and charming with fab resorts but it lacks of feelings and moslty authenticity" National Geographic agrees "Second-home communities and resort development have turned this region into a caricature of itself. The entire town of Porto Cervo looks more like a shopping mall/retirement community/country club in Arizona than an authentic Sardinian village." http://travel.nationalgeographic.com...balance/italy/
2. "great coast down to Iglesias with the several mines sites which I higly recommend you to visit Peter if you didn't get a chance yet!!" yes it is very nice. We particularly liked the museum at Buggeru (careful how you folks pronounce this) which is where in the 20's troops fired on striking miners, prompting the birth of the Italian labour movement. We will ride this coastline on Friday 29 April 2011 as part of the Giro of Sardinia http://www.girosardegna.it/

ciao Peter
