Need power adapter in London for US plug

Help everyone... I am studying in London for 3 weeks and its only the 2nd week and my power adapter broke!!! I need a new one ASAP, but it has to be for american plugs converted to UK. All the ones i have seen around are for UK to other countries. Is there anywhere in London where i can find one for US plugs.
Thank you guys for all your previous help in helping me plan my trip and answering my questions so promtly, i love you guys!!!

Don't know for sure about London, but in Amsterdam, I found such a thing at the airport (where there are plenty of U.S. tourists!). It's certainly a possibility - although I know a pain to get out to the airport.

I would check with a hotel. They probably have a supply for guests who forget to bring them, or that have been left behind. They would probably also know where you could buy one.

Hi V,

How in the world could you break a power adapter? :)

You have visited your local hardware store with your US appliance - No?

Call/visit some computer stores. I know the Apple stores here in the US carry a universal adapter kit.

If nothing else works - try Harrods - in my experience they can organize anything.

And I just love when they call me Modom.

Dixons has them, I'm pretty sure. There are Dixons all over--there is one on Oxford Street. Or go to Tottenham Court Road and hit the computer stores there--they might be able to help you.

Or look on Ebay. Sellers there ship worldwide.

Try an appliance store!! I also needed to get an adapter while in England in May and sure enough...they had them!!

I know I've seen them in Dixon's. Try an electronics store - they'll have one.

By the way, Ira... I've broken one, too. There's really not much to them. A few good drops on the floor and they'll break. :)

I'm sure bigger branches of Boots have them as well.
