Need Paris Hotel Recommendation
I am looking for a hotel in Paris to accomodate 4 travelers. We can all stay in one room if a quad is available or 2 separate rooms. We don't mind if the toilet and shower are down the hall. We are all adults in our 40's so we do not want to stay in any hostels or anywhere where there is a curfew. We are trying to keep our hotel expenses around $50 USD per person. I have been to the rants & raves section of Fodors but those hotels are too expensive. Please give me your recommendations. Thank you all!!!

Has it occurred to you to peruse the messages or do a search herein? You haven't mentioned when you're going, but you could order the hotel guide at the Paris tourist website and select from dozens of possibilities. Quads in Paris are few and far between, but doubles at $100 or less are quite plentiful. Do your own research, for heavens sake.

At least we could cite some names so that they can actually search FOR some firsthand information.

Try searching "cheap Paris hotels" here yourself. worthless. You'll find some info here on one or more of these.

Plagiarized from www.timeout.com

Grand Hôtel Lévêque
29 rue Cler, 7th (01.47.05.49.15/ fax 01.45.50.49.36/
http://www.hotel-leveque.com).Mº Ecole-Militaire. Mel,

I guess you didn't see thgis one:

http://www.fodors.com/rants/rrread.c...ntity_id=51290

I haven't stayed there, but friends of mine did, a few months ago. The quadruple rooms are larger than anywhere else in Paris, and the rate is around 160 dollars per night. My friends loved it. It's not a fancy hotel, but clean, safe and the location in the Marais is great.

Good luck,

Surlok

With your budget I would second the suggestion of two rooms in a 2* hotel. Think about 4 people using one bathroom trying to get ready in the morning! You could search on hotelboulevard.com or look on the AOL France boards for hotel suggestions. There are many hotels available for under $100/night.

Searching is a very good idea if it's done in a thoughtful manner with a good choice of words, limited to one word, preferably. In this case, you could probably find info just by searching on the word "quad", and you won't get many listings. "cheap Paris hotels" is too long a phrase and too nonspecific (more people would probably use the word "budget" than cheap in a post). I do not think four adults can reasonably stay in a quad, however, and I suspect that many hotels would not allow that as it might be against occupancy rules, not sure -- hotels that have quads that are simply two double rooms connect together probably would (this would be pointless, those are priced same as two double rooms). Quad rooms are usually for two adults and two children. You can find good budget hotels at these URLS: www.parishotels.com, www.france-hotel-guide.com (they have budget section), www.123france.com; also www.hotelboulevard.com has some at lower end, just search by price or something.

The Hôtel Duquesne in the 7me has nice chambres communicantes (adjoining rooms with shared bath for under $200. The Hôtel de France right around the corner on the Boulevard de la Tour Maubourg has a quadruple room that's even cheaper.
