Need map/directions of Manarola in Cinque Terre
We leave in three days!
We are staying at Hotel Marina Piccola in Manrola with two addresses on internet: Via Birolli N120 and Via Lo Scalo 16. I can find no map or directions to help us walk from train station to hotel in late evening.
(I think it is located near seashore, but that's all I've been able to find).
Does anyone have a link with a map of town or directions to get to these streets?
Please help! I also need to send directions to brother in Florida who will meets us there.
Also, thank you to so many posters who help us so much with the trip planning!
Cathy

Apparently, the Marina Picolo (because of its popularity), now has an annex.
The original hotel is listed on the internet as a three star, and the annex
(Marina Picola DIP) is rated as a one star. They use a common telephone number and fax.
I would call to determine which you have reservations at, and where do you check in. They can also give you walking directions from the train station.
If you are going to the original Marina Piccola (of Rick Steves fame), it is located on a tiny piazzetta, on a rocky crag above the shoreline.
If this is where you are checking in, it is easy to find.
If my memory serves me correctly:
Walk out the tunnel from the train station toward Manarola. As soon as you leave the tunnel, you will see either a ramp or flight of steps ahead of you and toward your left. You go up, over, and down the other side. Then turn right, and you will be at the small square where the Marina Piccola is located in about 3 minutes.
(The square ends at the edge of the rocky outcrop.) The Marina Piccola Hotel will be on your right.
There are only about six buildings that surround the piazzetta, so you won't get lost.

Congratulations. We stayed there and it is a charming spot. It will be pretty hard to miss. When you exit the train station, you simply head towards the sea -- slightly downhill instead of the opposite way which is uphill. It sort of branches off and you go to the right. There are no cars, just a few boats sitting on cradles in the street. It is right above the marina which is at the bottom of the cliffs. There should also be little signs here and there. Or if all else fails ask anyone. It is a very short walk and it is much easier than it sounds here. There are only a couple of streets total in Manarola and since the hotel is at the intersection of two of those, it would be hard to get lost for more than a minute.
I've never seen a map of Manarola. We had no problem (and we were driving and had to leave our car at the top of the village) so you'll have it even easier as the train station is VERY close to the hotel.

Ah. Here is a picture of Manarola from the sea. See the two pink buildings closest to the water? The Marina Piccola Hotel is the one on the left. The train station is practically right behind it. So as you approach the Marina, as I said, you really can't miss it.

Ooops that link didn't work directly to that picture, but if you go to the link and scroll down to the pictures of Manarola and click on the first one, you'll get an enlargement of the picture I'm talking about -- the square at the top of the cliffs of the "marina".
Rick Steve's fame? Hmmm. We stayed there before we ever heard of Rick Steve's. I thought he always pushed Vernazza?
Regarding the comment about the annex, that could be in a different place, but they used to have a second building or annex right behind the main building. We haven't stayed there in 9 years, but I suspect the town hasn't changed much (at least I hope not).
