Need lots of info

I'm thinking of a holiday to Norway. Never been there and don't know very much about that part of the world so any info would be great.
I'd like to cruise the fiords, see the Northern lights. What are the must see attractions ?
What time of year is best ? How do I get there from Perth, Australia ?

For cruising the fiords, you might like to check: www.Hurtigruten.co.uk/

To see the Northern light, the best time seems to be in the winter; but the summer is the best for sightseeing, I am not sure you would be able to see both at the same trip.

Fro Australia seems an awfully long way to go just to see Norway.

And I have nothing against Norway - I liked it. But why limit yourself to one country - unless you have only a few days? Frankly I would choose either Sweden or Denmark over Norway - but would try to do all 3 assuming you have a reasonable amount of time.
