Need lodging very near Dublin airport
Need lodging Monday, May 5 for my sister and me. Need to be at airport at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday so need somewhere with reliable transportation available. A chain-type place would be fine as we will only be there for one night. I priced a couple of B and B that were recommended--one was 100 euros, the other was 125 euros. Seems a bit much.

gmin,

Belcamp Hutchinson is just the ticket. It's a B & B that's located a mere ten-minute drive from Dublin Airport. The house was built in the late 18th century, has eight rooms, with prices around euro 50 per person. Belcamp's e-mail address is [email protected]

Best of luck.

There is a very good Holiday Inn located right in the airport. May be bit out of your price range but location can not be beat. Used it last fall and found it to be very nice and convenient.

I had the same problem last September; I stayed in Dublin (on Abbey St.). The first AM Airlink bus departs O'Connell Street just a half block from Abbey st. at 5:15 AM. It got me to the airport about 5:45 AM. I think there's another at 5:45 AM and then they run about every 20-min.

The Holiday in is more expensive than a B&B. Probably $150 and up. Less than 100 will be a struggle close to the airport. May 5 is also a bank holiday. I checked the Great Southern and three websites said they were full.

Thanks cicerone for topping this for me.
I'm looking into the holiday inn at dublin airport just for safety sake. If I miss the plane there isn't another one for 9 hours so better to be safe and stay within the airport grounds. Does anyone have any information on the bus from Holiday Inn into Dublin city center? thanks |

You could stay in Swords which is a village approx 10 minutes taxi to the airport. The tourist office should have a listing of places nearby.
If you stayat the holiday inn there are 2 options. 1 is the regular city bus and the other is a bit more expensive but I think quicker. Its the hite bus (Not sure the exact name) but it stops near all the major hotels in the Dublin main areas. One stop is St Stephens Green. It used to be 5 pounds and probably now its 7-8 euro. Both are outside the main terminal and anyione from there can direct you to each one. |
Take a cab! We arrived at the airport at 5:30 a.m.. didn't really need to as there weren't any staff there to check us in! We stayed at Stephens on the Green, and ordered a taxi the night before.

I stayed in a B&B called Evergreen in Malahide about 15 minutes from the airport in February. The owner runs a taxi service and the total cost was 50 Euros for the night and the trip to the airport. It was a great place and they have a website. Search on Evergreen Malahide.

I stayed at Holly Tree House in Swords. About $25 per person per night. About 1 mile from airport, yet quiet. Very nice owner
