Need lodging suggestions for our last days in Dordogne...

For our last four nights, prior to departing from Toulouse,we plan to visit many of the places in the Lot suggested by Fodorites. We know many people stay at Domaine de la Rhue in Rocamadour, and wonder if anyone has stayed at Moulin de Fresquet in Gramat??We need to decide quickly, and appreciate your suggestions

Are you looking for lodging in the Dordogne or near Rocamadour or Gramat (which are not in the Dordogne)?

You'll be there late April/early May? At this time of year, I would suggest leaving your last four nights free and decide where you want to go before heading Toulouse. You could likely find Logis de France places "on the fly" as it really isn't a heavy tourist season.

Sorry for the geography error. To clarify,we will be spending our last 4 days in Lot,East of the A20 visiting caves and wending our way thru the countryside to many of the beauty spots recommended by the wise and generous Fodorites who love this part of France. We will have spent 4 nights in Domme,at the Esplanade and 4 nights near Tremolat at le Moulin Neuf,a lovely looking, recommended B&B,and then could stay at Domaine de la Rhue or Moulin de Fresquet [which gets raves on TripAdvisor].While many Fodorites stay at Domaine... I have seen no mention of the Moulin.I have much enjoyed St.Cirq's pithy appraisals, and welcome them.We prefer to spend our last night where we have been for the prior 3,making an early start for the airport in Toulouse. Also, the Moulin serves dinner,on request, which could be nice on an evening when it would be lovely to stay in.SO.........Thanks St.Cirq...and if you have any other suggestions,I welcome them
AND uhoh......We no longer wing it.We prefer to obsess about where we stay, and book ahead!!

Sounds good to me. I don't know the place except by hearsay, but it sounds lovely, and dinner the night before makes it all the better. The only thing I'd add is that maybe spending the last night IN or right near Toulouse would cut down on getting to the airport, etc. - but if your flight isn't first thing in the morning, you're probably fine.

We have decided to stay at le Moulin de Fresquet, and would appreciate restaurant suggestions around Rocamadour and all its environs So many thanks !!
