Need last minute help with London/Edinburgh trip!

Need some advice:

We have a total amount of 4-5 nights to spend in Scotland (thenwe're going to london for 6 nights). Should we do 3 nights in Edinburgh, 1 night in the Scottish Highlands? Or 2 nights in Edinburgh, 2 nights in Scottish Highlands?

Also, ANyone recommend a romantic and beautiful/secluded, expensive hotel for Scottish Highlands area? Whats the TOP place to stay if you only had 1 night there! Thanks!

If by "last minute" you mean in the next week or so - you might want to re-think your plans. Parts of the UK has had very heavy rains and snow and more is on the way. They are fearing floods and travel problems as bad as those in 2000 (which were historic).

Think about limiting yourself to Edinburgh and London and flying between the two. It probably is not a good idea to plan a "seculded" highland getaway in the next few weeks - either flooding or heavy snow may be encountered in many areas. (flodding is not as likely in Scotland but heavy snow certainly is)

Oops - meant flooding -- not flodding

We stayed 2 nights up at the Kildrummy Castle Hotel which is up toward the highlands area. VERY nice hotel! You can see it at www.celticcastles.com.

Is it too late to try to answer this?
